We are looking for a Senior Accountant who can help implement full-cycle general ledger accounting systems and processes. This position will report to the Financial Controller and is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the core accounting function. Areas of responsibility include assuring company compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, assisting with monthly close, monthly coordination with our statutory bookkeepers, supporting the annual financial statement audit, streamlining and improving processes, and assisting with financial reporting.


You are in a pivotal role on a rapidly growing team on the forefront of developing a better client work management platform. On a typical day, you will be using your accounting knowledge to work on various critical accounting tasks, from coordinating with international service providers to preparing journal entries and account reconciliations to reviewing financial statements and working with auditors. You will develop a deep understanding of the business and will be familiar with our worldwide operations.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist in month-end closing of the general ledger, including preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation, and review of balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist with daily cash accounting, reporting, and monthly reconciliations
  • Assist with day-to-day transaction processing
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to payroll accounting
  • Ensure that revenue (ASC 606), estimates, accruals, prepayments, reserves, and provisions are calculated and supported with appropriate basis or backup, in accordance with US GAAP
  • Review trial balance and financial statements for completeness and accuracy
  • Update consolidated general ledger for transactions in overseas operations
  • Review financial reports produced by international bookkeepers, track international invoices and assist in reclaiming VAT, GST, etc.
  • Use accounting concepts, experience, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Review expense coding of vendor invoices for appropriate accounting treatment
  • Prepare journal entries related to expense allocations and overall consolidation
  • Investigate and resolve comments that arise from income statement variance analysis
  • Other duties and projects assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Strong background in general accounting, experience with month-end close, and knowledge of US GAAP, including detailed knowledge of ASC 606
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment, preferably with international operations
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets
  • Team-oriented self-starter with good problem-solving skills and the ability to interact positively and successfully with all levels of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Passion for technology and the efficiencies it can bring. 


It’s A Plus If You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in a position(s) with equivalent responsibilities and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA (or exams passed) & public accounting experience
  • Experience with Xero other GL systems

Annual salary for this role is $73,000-$93,000 depending on experience.
